NCDOT Access Control derived from the road characteristics data set using "AccessCont = Full OR AccessCont = Partial." Access control status indicates some degree of control of through movements to a road. Full access control indicates preference given to through traffic movements by providing interchanges with roads, and by prohibiting crossing at-grade and direct driveway connections. Partial access control indicates through traffic movement. In addition to interchanges, there may be some crossings at-grade, but direct private driveway connection are minimized.
